The Greenguard certification programmes set out standards for products that are used in interiors. The aim here is to assure the indoor air quality of public and private spaces. To do so, the products are tested in special emission test chambers immediately after production. With the Greenguard certificate, companies give greater credence to their sustainability claims, as these are proven by empirical, scientific data from an internationally recognised organisation. The certificates can be applied to certain building classifications.
