The Italian architect and designer Matteo Thun is a co-founder of Sottsass Associati and the legendary Memphis Group. From 1983 to 1996 he taught as a professor of design at the College of Applied Art in Vienna. From 1990 he also worked as the creative director for Swatch. In his studio in Milan he works right across the fi elds of architecture, design and communication. His hotel “Side” in Hamburg, which he set up in collaboration with the artist Robert Wilson, was voted Hotel of the Year in 2001.
